A nice gift...

This lovely little bunny statue was a gift to Maria and I from Anne Marie, one of mrs. Pratt's friends from her knitting group. We love it, and has a nice place near other bunny related things we have. It looks like a member of our rabbit family! Thank you Anne Marie!

OUCH

I had a computer virus last week,and it was really messing up my programs so I decided to do a system recovery. But being the technological equivalent of a bad Jerry lewis movie, I did one that wiped out all my photo files. Fortunately, my wife has a lot of bunny photos saved on her laptop, but I fear quite a few are gone for good. I'm very glad I didn't scrap this page last year, or else I'd have even less.

Junk in the Trunk...

On New Year's Day, all the bunnies had a "salon" treatment. We brushed them , clipped their nails, just made sure they are ok, health wise. We noticed Baxter had a small growth in her ear, and due to her size she has had a little trouble treaching it with the back foot. So off to the vet she went today. The ear wax was taken care of, but Baxter is now on a diet. She weighed in at 8 and 1/4 pounds! Even Greyton at his bulkiest wasn't that heavy. So she needs to lose 2 pounds by next month's weigh-in. Bunny fit Club indeed.

All the bunnies eat well, and we really don't give them too many treats, but each has their own relationship with food. Ollie takes his time with pellets and greens but doesn't over do it. He's maybe gained a pound or so since we adopted him but he is active and healthy. Twizzle prefers a big pile of hay and his greens to pellets so isn't the pellet hound that Baxter seems to be. Baxter will sometimes ignore her greens for a bowl of pellets. Finnegan's big treat is banana chips. He gets one every other day or so, he eats his food in moderation too and isn't bad.

But Baxter loves to sit near her bowl, which she shares with Finnegan. So now she is rationed to have a cup a day, and more emphasis on the hay and veggies...and definitely no treats.

We love our rabbits, but don't want them to endanger their health. So Baxter's new year's resolution is to slim down a bit.

Here we go...

You know when you go on an amusement park ride and somebody on the ride will say just as the machinery starts up, "Here we go....", well this is how I feel as I return to writing, hopefully on a daily basis. I'm glad I never completely deleted this page.

Several years ago this used to be my main creative outlet and I thought I would blog forever, but then I became involved in other creative outlets and let this slide, but I look forward to beginning again, a fresh start with the New Year.

New Year's was a quiet one. A little dinner, some champagne and a midnight carrot for the rabbits. It's been a relaxing week since I've been off work since the 21st, but return tomorrow. Welcome 2008, because the last year was filled with bad health. I want to put that behind me.

I'll probably do some of the usual things I used the blog for. Reporting on what celebrity dies,or silly pop culture milestones, the Monday Bunday updates, the tales of any weirdness that come my way. I hope to build the page up again, where it's a pleasant stop for you online.
